Paramilitary CRPF officer killed, three injured in Achabal militant attack | KNO

A paramilitary officer was killed while three others including a civilian were injured after militants attacked a CRPF party near Achabal in south Kashmir’s Ansntnag district on Friday.

Reports said that the militants fired upon the CRPF party at Achabal. In the attack, three paramilitary troopers and a pedestrian sustained bullet wounds and were taken to nearby Achabal hospital for treatment where one among the critically injured CRPF officer succumbed.

The deceased has been identified as ML Meena (ASI). Two other troopers were meanwhile referred to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar. Hospital sources at Achabal lso confirmed the death of a CRPF man and said that the condition of one among the two injured troopers is serious.

The injured civilian has been identified as Ghulam Rasool. A senior police officer also confirmed the attack and said that a CRPF man died and two others suffered injuries. He said that the area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab the assailants.
